But in July, their daughter Hazel made a rare public appearance with her dad at the Cannes Film Festival in France.
They were there for the premiere of the movie Flag Day. Moder worked as the cinematographer, while Sean Penn directed the film.
Penn’s own kids played roles in the movie, but Hazel wasn’t in the cast. She attended simply to support her father, and her appearance quickly caught people’s attention.
