His appearance on Easter Sunday became the subject of discussions. This became a poignant final moment happening just days before his unexpected passing that broke absolutely everyone’s heart. Sadly enough, the man had long been suffering pneumonia experiencing a drastic health decline which, however, failed to stop him from emerging onto the central balcony.
Surprisingly, his voice sounded strong, but his looks left a lot to be desired. Pope was in a wheelchair and he was assisted by his aids. The man toured the square in the Popemobile blessing all the infants and congratulating everybody. The outing was followed by a meeting with U.S. Vice President. It is worth mentioning that earlier this month he also made a visit to St. Peter’s Basilica. Much attention was paid to his vulnerable and much weakened look that sparked mixed reactions online.
The man was dressed in simple black pants and striped covering instead of his traditional attire. This raised some concerns about his health state making it clear that he truly suffered poor health. Pope had been undergoing physical therapy gradually reducing his dependence on supplemental oxygen. He, however, continued his convalescence at Casa Santa Manta which shows his dedication to his duties.
He made appearance on Easter Sunday and earlier in April making it obvious how bad his condition became. He also went through hospitalization and intensive respiratory therapy but the disease, unfortunately, took his life. He passes away at his residence in the Vatican’s Casa Santa Marta.
