Jake had spent weeks planning the perfect beach proposal. He’d rented a small private cove, arranged for a violinist, and even trained his pet parrot, Mango, to fly in with a small ribbon-tied box carrying the ring. It was going to be magical — just him, his girlfriend Clara, and their feathered witness.
Mango had been Jake’s companion for over a decade. The parrot was incredibly smart, often mimicking words and phrases he heard at home. Jake had even taught him to say “Will you marry me?” for this special moment.
As the sun began to set, Jake took Clara’s hand and led her down the path to the beach. Everything was perfect — until Mango landed on Clara’s shoulder and let out a loud, clear phrase:
