When Ruby, Jamie Lee Curtis’ daughter, finally decided to tell her parents the truth about herself, she… couldn’t say it out loud.
A message on her phone seemed like the only way she could get through her own fear.

“I was scared to death… Just telling them something about myself that they never knew. It’s like jumping into the dark,” Ruby admitted.
“But I knew I didn’t need to be afraid of their reaction. They always accepted me.”
Jamie Lee Curtis received the message and called back immediately. Without even thinking, without formulating a sentence — she just pressed “call.”
“Yes, there were tears… lots of tears,” the actress recalls. “But they weren’t tears of fear. More like tears of relief.”

Now Curtis is learning every day to live in her daughter’s new reality — not as a star, not as an activist, but as a mom who is trying not to fall flat on her face.
“It’s like learning a new language,” she admits. “I don’t pretend to understand everything. I just want to make fewer mistakes.”

Ruby, for the first time, felt that she could be herself. She allowed herself a transformation that she could only dream of before — a new appearance, openness, her own path.
And most importantly, a path that her family is walking with her, step by step, without coercion, without pressure, simply with love and an attempt to understand.
