In the early 1990s, Edward Furlong seemed destined for Hollywood greatness. Discovered at just 13 years old with no acting experience, he shot to global fame after landing the role of John Connor in the blockbuster hit “Terminator 2.”
Almost overnight, he became one of the most recognizable young stars in the world. Major film roles followed, critics praised his talent, and many believed he had a long career ahead of him.

But behind the success, Furlong struggled with personal demons. Growing up without strong guidance, he found himself surrounded by fame, money, and freedom at a very young age. As the years passed, substance abuse began taking over his life.

His once-promising career slowly collapsed. He lost major acting opportunities, faced legal troubles, and spent years battling addiction. At his lowest point, he admitted he nearly lost everything — including his health.

One of the most devastating consequences was the damage done to his teeth after years of drug abuse. Eventually, they deteriorated so badly that he required a full restoration.

Everything finally changed after a 2016 arrest pushed him toward long-term treatment. This time, recovery worked. Furlong completed rehab, got sober, and began rebuilding his life piece by piece.

Today, the former teen idol says his biggest victory isn’t fame — it’s repairing relationships, staying sober, and rebuilding the bond with his son Ethan.
Recent photos with his now-grown son have left fans stunned, with many pointing out just how much Ethan resembles his famous father during his heartthrob years.
