Almost three decades after making their relationship public, Victoria and David Beckham have returned to Portofino — the Italian destination that played a special role at the very beginning of their romance.
The couple first visited in 1997, when their relationship was still new. Victoria later recalled the intense blue sky, the scent of fresh white sheets and the feeling that nobody else existed except the two of them. She even created the genderless fragrance Portofino ’97 in tribute to those memories.
Now they are back as a family, and new vacation photos show that the romantic atmosphere hasn’t disappeared. David was even spotted playing devoted Instagram husband, photographing Victoria while she directed him through her preferred shots and poses.
Victoria brought plenty of drama to the vacation wardrobe. One look featured a black bodysuit beneath a long sheer lace skirt embroidered with pink and green flowers, finished with black heels and a sleek low ponytail.

She later switched into a flowing clay-colored slip dress with a seriously plunging neckline. David coordinated with her in a similarly colored shirt and subtly striped trousers.
