Heidi Klum’s Son Turns 21 — And His Stepfather Finally Keeps a Wild 7-Year-Old Promise

Heidi Klum’s son Henry had a 21st birthday he is unlikely to forget. The young model received an extraordinary present from his stepfather, Tom Kaulitz — and behind the surprise was a promise that had been hanging over the family for seven years.

Heidi shared a video capturing the moment Tom handed Henry the keys to his birthday gift. The present was a Ferrari F430 valued at around $200,000, turning an old family bet into a seriously extravagant coming-of-age surprise.

But Tom didn’t simply wake up one morning and decide to hand over the keys. Seven years earlier, he had lost to Henry while they were playing Mario Kart and apparently made a promise that eventually came back to haunt him. When Henry turned 21, Tom actually followed through.

Henry is Heidi’s son with singer Seal and has recently been building a modeling career of his own. Heidi and Seal were married for seven years before separating in 2012. They also share son Johan and daughter Lou.

Heidi is also mother to eldest daughter Leni, whose biological father is businessman Flavio Briatore. Heidi and Briatore separated while she was pregnant, and Seal later adopted Leni.

Today, Heidi shares her life with Tokio Hotel guitarist Tom Kaulitz, who is 17 years younger than she is. The couple celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary last month.

And after seven years of waiting, Henry now has proof that Tom apparently takes even a Mario Kart defeat seriously. What started as a game between stepfather and stepson ended with one very real set of keys being handed over on his 21st birthday.
