The Rarest Black Tiger Hit the Lens of a Photographer in India

There are many places in the world that can be called “magical” or unique due to the fact that there is something there that cannot be found in other parts of the planet. Similipal Tiger Reserve in Odisha in Indian state can be considered to be one of these phenomena. Only here the rarest tigers of all known species live and such a handsome being was photographed recently here!

Here is a picture of  a black tiger or as it is called in another way – a melanistic tiger.

The author of the photographs is an amateur photographer Sumen Bajpayee, who is sure that the gods bestowed great luck on him for his careful attitude towards nature and animals. Scientists from the Wildlife Institute of India agree with him. Tigers in Odisha are very vulnerable to humans and never show up where there are a lot of people making noise. Spooring the black tigers is useless as the unique creatures are reliably guarded.

It is believed that there are 7-8 black tigers left in the whole world, and they all live in one place.

Black tigers are so rare that they were first discovered only in 1990. These animals have an excess of melanin, so the black stripes are wide and bright, and the orange ones are narrow and dull. Sadly, the dark tigers are smaller and weaker than the usual ones, and therefore they have little chance to survive. The state protects them, but the steady growth of villages and deforestation deprives the tigers of a place to live. Therefore, a meeting with a black tiger can really be considered a huge success!
