Despite the fact that the life of a hedgehog is more like a paradise, sometimes even these cuties find themselves in awful situations due to the negligence of people.
Most recently, in St Albans (UK), during the work builders dug a large trench.
Before leaving for the weekend, they covered the trench with boards, but there were still quite large gaps at the joints.
A hedgehog fell into one of them. Trying to get out, it became more and more covered with clay.
Noticing the forest guest in the trench, the builders immediately called the animal rescue service.
After long procedures of cleaning from clay, the animal was in a good condition. A huge amount of detergent and water was expended.
“Because of the fact that the hedgehog was very frozen, it was constantly in one position. This created a lot of problems during the operation. We could not warm the poor animal, as the clay would solidify “
After the water procedures, the center workers gave a name to the rescued creature. Now it is completely safe, but before releasing it, the workers of the center decided to monitor the health of the hedgehog for a few days more.
