The residents of the villages in northeastern Bulgaria sheltered storks in their homes which were frozen in snow-covered fields because of the abnormally low temperatures.
At the end of March, birds usually return home from warm regions.
However, this time severe frost and snowfall awaited them.
The caring villagers began to care for birds on the verge of survival.
