A traveling bird was found only in the port of Milford Bay but since the parrot could be a potential carrier of infections that could harm the local birds he couldn’t stay in New Zealand. The officers were ordered to monitor the bird, check his behavior at every step, as well as send a photo report that the animal is tied up and is in good health.
The ship’s veterinarian found a microchip under the cutie’s skin and they immediately informed the owner of the finding. In the end, everything was resolved well and the feathered creature was returned to his homeland.
