Kim Novak, a famous actress from the 1950s and 1960s, mesmerized audiences with her beauty and unforgettable roles. Born in Chicago, Illinois, she started out as a model but quickly transitioned to acting, becoming one of Hollywood’s biggest stars.

Though Novak stepped out of the limelight in the late 1960s, people remain fascinated by her. Lately, discussions about her appearance have stirred debates online, with many suggesting that plastic surgery is behind her visible changes.

Novak is best remembered for her standout performance in the 1955 film Picnic, where she played Madge Owens, directed by Joshua Logan. In 1954, she was in the film Phffft, which earned her the Golden Globe for Most Promising Newcomer-Female the following year, marking her rise to fame.

“I had to leave for my own well-being. I felt like I lost sight of who I was and what I stood for,” Novak explained, noting that the pressure to fit in with Hollywood’s expectations made it hard for her to stay true to herself.

In 2014, after she appeared at the Oscars to present an award, a public figure made a harsh comment on social media, saying she should “sue her plastic surgeon” due to how she looked during that rare public appearance.

Novak later admitted she wasn’t happy with how she looked that night. She had undergone fat injections to address insecurities about her face, but it ended up making her face appear overly round. She later regretted the procedure.

The public figure’s comments hurt Novak deeply, and she called him a bully for mocking her appearance. However, some fans agreed with the criticism, saying that her plastic surgery had drastically changed her face, especially around her cheeks, nose, and mouth.

Despite the backlash, Novak finds joy in her art, where she can express herself freely. “I love being in control as the director, producer, and actor in my paintings. It’s a true reflection of who I really am. I want people to know that I was more than just a movie star,” she shared.

Now 91 years old, Novak celebrated her birthday on February 13, 2024, and enjoys a peaceful, quiet life. According to her close friend and longtime manager, Sue Cameron, Novak had a relaxed picnic with friends on her property, surrounded by plenty of fudge.
