He Was Helping a Friend Move — Then the Floor Gave Way and Swallowed Him Into a 180-Year-Old Well

😱 He was helping a friend move — and the floor swallowed him into a 180-year-old well. What looked like a solid floor was hiding a dangerous secret from 1843… Full story of this unbelievable fall — in the article below!👇

Three people from Connecticut had a shocking — and definitely unpleasant — experience while helping a friend move. Diane Martin was getting ready to settle into her new apartment and asked her friends, Angela and Christopher Towne, to help her out.  It’s a warning for you, always to be careful if you come across something that looks like a hidden hatch…

Christopher was trying to move some furniture when he suddenly felt the floor give way beneath him. Before he even understood what was happening, he dropped about nine meters into the ground. What he had fallen into turned out to be a narrow well that had a bit of water at the bottom. That little bit of water may have been what saved him from serious injury.

Everything happened so fast that his wife Angela didn’t immediately realize what was going on. But she quickly pulled herself together and called emergency services for help.

When rescuers arrived and got Christopher out safely, they discovered the reason behind the accident. The house Diane had just moved into was nearly 180 years old. The well had originally been dug back in 1843, just outside the house. But around 40 years ago, someone renovated the building and expanded it, which left the well inside the structure. No one knows who thought it would be okay to simply cover the well with wooden boards.

It’s frightening to think what could have happened if Christopher had fallen when he was alone. Thankfully, he came out of it without serious injuries — a lucky escape considering how dangerous the situation was.
