“Ryan Reynolds crossed the line?” 🎥🔥 A red-carpet moment with a child reporter has fans divided—was it harmless sarcasm or something far more cruel? The clips are everywhere… see the exchange in the article below 👇
Ryan Reynolds is facing criticism online after an awkward exchange with a child reporter at the Toronto International Film Festival.
The incident happened on the red carpet for the premiere of John Candy: I Love Myself. A young journalist excitedly greeted Reynolds and expressed admiration, but the actor cut him off rather abruptly, suggesting they “skip straight to the question.”

The boy, slightly taken aback, asked about Tim Horton’s breakfast. Reynolds, with his trademark sarcasm, replied that he would send a “strongly worded letter to the chef” and sign it with the boy’s name.

Clips of the exchange quickly spread across social media, where many users slammed the actor’s humor as inappropriate and even cruel. Comments included: “There’s nothing funny about this. Children don’t understand sarcasm when it comes across as rudeness — it’s just mean,” and “It’s one thing to joke with an adult, but making a nervous child feel smaller is not a joke.” Others accused Reynolds and his wife, Blake Lively, of being condescending toward people they consider “beneath them.”

A source later told that Reynolds “absolutely did not intend to be rude” and that his impatience was due to pressure from event organizers, who had urged him not to linger on the red carpet.
