Salma Hayek has entered a completely new chapter at 59. The Hollywood actress has become a grandmother for the first time after her stepson François Pinault Jr. and his wife, Lara Cosima Henckel von Donnersmarck, welcomed a baby boy—and Salma already appears completely smitten.
The actress gave fans their first adorable glimpse of her grandson in a video showing the tiny boy resting comfortably in her arms. Salma speaks softly to him in Spanish while little François responds with a sweet laugh. Her expression makes it obvious just how much she’s enjoying her new role.
The baby’s name carries special significance. He is called François, continuing a tradition shared by his father, grandfather and an earlier generation of the Pinault family. Salma celebrated the arrival of the “fourth living generation of François,” although she has already created her own affectionate nickname for the newest family member: Panchito. “He seems to like it,” she joked, while admitting she couldn’t possibly love him more.

New mom Lara also shared photographs from the family’s first weeks with the baby. The collection included François Jr. feeding and changing his son, along with Salma proudly holding her grandson. Lara affectionately called her husband the “best François in the world” and their baby the “cutest François.”

Hayek has long maintained a close relationship with her husband’s children. After marrying billionaire François-Henri Pinault in 2009, she became stepmother to François, Mathilde and Augustin. The couple also share daughter Valentina, who recently turned 18.
Having a large family has particular meaning for Salma. She previously revealed that she had dreamed of having many children but was able to have only one biologically. Her husband’s children therefore became an important part of the family she had always wanted—and now little Panchito has added another generation.
