Covid will remain in history forever, for a variety of reasons, to which another one has recently been added. The majority of last year, residents of the Israeli city of Haifa spent their time at home, hiding from the virus. And when they left, they were surprised to see that the city no longer belonged to them. There were a lot of wild boars here before, but now they are everywhere!
That’s a lovely sight that gladdens the heart of any animal activist. Unless it’s on your lawn.
Boars feel great in Haifa, which cannot be said about people.
The problem arose a few years ago when a wildfire drove several flocks from a nearby mountain into the city. Boars constantly lived in the neighborhood with people, but in different biomes, and therefore they did not intersect. There were trash cans full of yummy in the city and the authorities prohibit shooting and in any way offending the pigs at the state level. The pigs understood – this is our local pig paradise!
The presence of piglets is a convincing argument .
During the quarantine, people completely disappeared from the streets and the pigs believed that the city was theirs!
Animals crawl everywhere- they dig holes, destroy beds and flowers, spoil things and spoil abundantly. They are not afraid of anything . It’s hard to resist 150 kg of living rage, you know, especially if you can’t use weapons. And then there is the threat of the spread of diseases . So the locals are not in a good condition.
And the most important thing is that no one knows what to do. The same as always!
