The Blind Dog and His Faithful Guide Cat Were Adopted by a Loving Family

The fact that cats and dogs don’t get along with each other is most often true, but there are cases that refute this stereotype and one of them is our story. Spike the dog and Max the cat are not only best friends, but the cat is also the guardian and guide of the blind Spike.

Both of them appeared in a shelter in one of the towns in Canada. Both cuties were confiscated from the previous owner who could no longer support them. It was an elderly man who kept animals in an open-air cage outside his house. Despite the fact that the aviary was partially covered with a roof the frosts in Canada were strong and the cat and dog were very cold.

The neighbors noticed the animals and contacted the animal welfare service. The staff arrived and saw a couple who were shivering from frost. They were taken to a shelter in the hope of finding caring owners although there were very few chances, because it wasn’t very easy to tale care of a blind eight-year-old dog.

It would be very cruel to separate the dogs since Spike and Max were very friendly and didn’t leave each other during all this time. The cat helped the dog to move and navigate in space.  So we decided to attach them together. Due to the fact that there would rarely be anyone who could apply to shelter for a couple of pets the shelter staff decided to levy a tax only for the dog and just donate the cat.

The pictures of friends were spread in all social networks to attract the attention of a large number of Internet users. There were many applicants and among them they decided to choose the most worthy one. They went to a caring owner in another province, but found a warm home, care and what’s the most important thing is that they weren’t separated.
