Rodrigo was born on July 30, 1983, in São Paulo, Brazil, to a Brazilian mother and a British father with Portuguese heritage. Coming from a well-off family, Rodrigo’s father managed a thriving farming business that later grew into a network of supermarkets, real estate agencies, and retail properties. As a young child, Rodrigo loved playing with dolls and often enjoyed dressing up in girls’ clothing. His parents were accepting, and his father would regularly gift him Barbie dolls.
During his teenage years, Rodrigo was diagnosed with gynecomastia, a condition where excess estrogen causes the breast tissue to grow. At 17, he had his first surgery to remove his developed chest. Family and friends remember Rodrigo as a shy and reserved teen, making him an easy target for bullying at school. He spent most of his time alone, watching TV—especially drawn to Disney princess movies and dolls.
