Bruce Willis’ fans were touched when his eldest daughter, 34-year-old Rumer Willis, shared a heartwarming series of photos on social media featuring her father with his young granddaughter, Louella.
In the snapshots, Bruce, who is battling a terminal illness, is seen holding his only grandchild close to his chest. “I’ll cherish these memories forever—seeing my dad embrace my daughter with so much love and tenderness is priceless. Dad, I’m so grateful to have you and Lou in my life!” Rumer captioned one of the pictures.
In the photos, Bruce is dressed in a plaid shirt and dark baseball cap, gently cradling little Louella, who is dressed adorably in a blue floral dress. Another image shows Rumer standing beside her father, hugging her daughter tightly while leaning her head on Bruce’s shoulder.
Rumer shared this special photo series to honor Father’s Day, calling Bruce “the best dad in the world.”
These touching images brought tears to the eyes of many Willis fans. A little over a year ago, Bruce was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, an incurable condition.
Due to the disease, Bruce had to step away from his successful acting career at the age of 67. This condition slowly robs its sufferers of the ability to speak, understand language, and eventually even remember their loved ones.
Tallulah, one of Bruce’s three daughters with his first wife Demi Moore, recently shared that life expectancy for those diagnosed with this illness is often short—typically no more than five years.
With this in mind, Rumer, Tallulah, and their sister Scout are making it a point to treasure every moment they have with their father while he’s still with them.
