Ever Anderson is carving out her own place in Hollywood at just 18 — and her latest appearance came with an unexpected family connection. Milla Jovovich’s eldest daughter attended the premiere of the crime thriller “Father Joe,” in which she plays one of the leading roles.
The project connects Ever with Luc Besson, who wrote and produced the film. The French filmmaker was married to Jovovich from 1997 until 1999 after the pair met while making “The Fifth Element.” “Father Joe” was directed by Barthélemy Grossmann and also stars Kiefer Sutherland and Al Pacino.
Ever joined Besson, Grossmann and Sutherland for the occasion. She appeared on the red carpet in a sparkling cream Dior dress from the fashion house’s cruise collection, before switching things up for the film’s photocall in a pink Dior outfit.
Despite the connection between Besson and her mother, Ever is actually the daughter of Jovovich and director Paul W. S. Anderson. Jovovich married Anderson after her divorce from Besson, and the couple also have two younger daughters, Dashiel and Osian.
“Father Joe” takes audiences back to 1990s New York. Its central character is a priest whose life changes after a personal tragedy. Instead of limiting himself to sermons, he decides to take matters into his own hands and directly confront the city’s criminal underworld.
Ever’s starring role marks another major step in her growing acting career, and her high-profile appearance placed the 18-year-old firmly in the spotlight alongside some of cinema’s biggest names.
The 83rd Venice Film Festival, where the film premiered, runs from September 2 through September 12, 2026.
