Rescuers and parents of Casey Hathaway, who lives in the US state of North Carolina, listened to the unprecedented story. A child got lost in the forest and he was guarded by a kind bear!
Little Casey played with his sister and cousin in the backyard of his great-grandmother’s house on Tuesday, but when the adults left the boy alone he disappeared.
Scared relatives searched the forest behind the house for nearly an hour before calling 911.

A massive search operation was launched by Craven County Police and Rescue Units. 600 volunteers, FBI officers, marines and divers wandered the forests of eastern North Carolina in search of the missing little boy.
Helicopters and drones were also used for finding the boy; he was dressed not very suitable for the very cold weather as it was winter outside. On the second day, the bad weather intensified so much that the authorities even had to curtail the time of the search operation.
And only on Thursday evening did the rescuers receive a message that a child’s cry was heard in the forest …
The frozen child called his mother, standing on a small island in the bushes. To get to the place the rescuers had to swim through the icy water, which reached the chest of an adult!
Lifeguard Shane Greer found a child trapped in thorny bushes and carried him out of the forest. Fortunately, the kid was unharmed. He was only scratched and severely chilled.

Little Casey was taken to the hospital. He told amazing things! All these days there was an extraordinary companion next to him; a friendly bear!
Perhaps he helped the child to get to the island and not to freeze?

“Casey told that he spent two days with a bear that God had sent to keep the little boy safe. God is very kind, and miracles do happen!”

Shane Greer visited the rescued kid in the hospital. The doctors say that he is fine, despite the fact that he spent two days in the forest, where the temperature dropped below zero degrees Celsius at night.
The boy’s parents tell reporters that their son has already recovered so much after the incident that he calmly gets up, talks and asks for cartoons!
