This incident happened to a homeless man, Luis who lives in Brazil. He had a heart attack and was urgently hospitalized.
But the man was alone in the hospital, because he was a lonely homeless person. But despite this fact Louis had true friends. They were the animals whom he looked after and was close friends with them.

The dogs didn’d want to leave so the hospital staff had to contact the animal protection organization so that they could drive the animals away. The volunteers who arrived took pictures of the dogs at the door of the hospital, but they refused to take them. They assured that after Louis was discharged the dogs would leave again.

The man had been living on the street for twenty years. The inhabitants of the town are already accustomed to both Luis and his pets. They tried to give Louis a job and a home many times, but he likes this way of life. One of the volunteers noted that he liked to live the way he lives but when he had a seizure the volunteers were there to help him.

Louis stayed in hospital for two days and when his health stabilized the volunteers helped him to recover. However, he didn’t see his dogs then, since they left through the main entrance and not through the reception area. The dogs also didn’t know at first that Louis had already been discharged.

After the man was fully recovered he continued to live his usual life on the street with the doggies. Louis and his dogs now live in the same place.
