An Orphaned Elephant Was Consoled by an Ostrich. Now These Two Creatures Don’t Part

Surely you have heard more than once about the amazing friendship between different types of animals.

In today’s article we would like to share with you the incredible friendship between an ostrich and a baby elephant.

Once a baby elephant named Giotto was still a month old when he strayed from the herd and accidentally fell into a well. He was very lucky to be rescued by the staff of the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (DSWT) which is located in Kenya.

The baby was placed with other elephants so that he would get a little stronger and recover, and then they wanted to release him into his usual habitat. But the staff of the center couldn’t even imagine that of all the elephants, Giotto would make friends with an ostrich! In 2014, a bird named Pea was also rescued by employees and oddly enough he stayed with the elephants.

What is very strange is that the orphaned ostrich Pea considers herself a part of the elephant herd, and Giotto is happy too, because he can enjoy hugging his feathered friend. And here is the message that appeared on the orphanage’s website.:”The Nairobi nursery provides excellent living conditions for these two orphans, as well as for many other animals, until they are strong and ready to return to the wild.” Now Giotto and Pea are best friends! They love each other so much that they hug each other every minute.
