We don’t appreciate the things that are always at our fingertips. We aren’t happy about the opportunity to eat or sleep in a soft bed but this dog is extremely happy and the reason, as it may seem, is quite simple – just got his own bed …
A pet named Ezra spent his entire life on the street. When the baby arrived at the Fairfield County Shelter in September, he refused to even look people in the eye. The dog curled up in the corner of his kennel trembling with fear and looking at the wall.
When one of the staff members walked past the kennel in which the dog was sitting he was eating a hot dog. The man certainly threw a piece of the treat to the pet and once the kid became so emboldened that he carefully took the treat from the hands of one of the employees.
When the doggy got used to the new environment he became more willing to communicate with people. Sometimes the cutie even allowed himself to be stroked!
After spending five months at the orphanage the cutie finally dared to go outside for the very first walk in his life. Since then, Ezra’s mental state has improved a lot and the baby seemed to be reborn – now he wags his tail and jumps for joy when seeing someone from the shelter staff.
And after one of these walks the doggie’s life changed forever. Some caring people donated several dog beds to the shelter. Ezra was so delighted with the gift that he had to be persuaded to get off it in order to be taken for a walk. But as soon as he returned from the street the baby immediately lay down on his favorite soft bed again.
Seeing how happy the pet is, the staff put the bed right in his kennel and Ezra immediately sat on it shining with happiness. He was so happy and proud to have his own place!
Very soon the dog will go to New York where they will find owners for him. The staff of the shelter is proud of Ezra because he was able to overcome his fear and trust people again.
